About the position

As a Senior Software Test Engineer at Medtronic, you will be part of a world-class team responsible for the development and enhancement of the Robotic Assisted Surgery platform. This role involves utilizing your expertise in software verification techniques for medical systems, developing test strategies, and ensuring the quality of control software for robotic instrumentation. You will engage with an Agile scrum team, create both manual and automated tests, and support the verification of surgical instruments, all while contributing to the mission of improving healthcare access and equity.

Responsibilities

  • Develop test strategies and create manual or automated tests for software verification.
  • Troubleshoot defects and build/maintain testing tools.
  • Participate in release activities and support electromechanical verification of surgical instruments.
  • Train junior engineers and provide knowledge sharing and demos.
  • Engage with an Agile scrum team to verify control software for robotic subsystems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree and 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Deep understanding of software verification techniques for medical or regulated systems.
  • Knowledge of software architecture and detail designs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Medium to advanced level Python or C++ coding ability.
  • Medium to Advanced level MATLAB and/or Simulink experience.
  • Good communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Medical Product verification and FDA guidance.
  • Basic understanding of creating test protocols for verifying software requirements.
