About the position

The Finance Data Solutions team is seeking a Solution Engineer to understand customer needs and translate them into practical, scalable solutions aligned with business and technology strategies. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement solutions that support various financial reporting and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Understand Finance customer needs by gathering requirements and identifying pain points.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement solutions effectively.
  • Conduct requirements sessions with stakeholders to convert business needs into functional solutions.
  • Investigate problems and develop recommendations for resolution.
  • Monitor testing processes to ensure business results are adequately tested with minimal risk.
  • Evaluate upstream changes and identify dependencies and impacts on established processes.
  • Write and maintain user documentation for reference.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with business partners.
  • Communicate with upstream data providers and downstream data consumers.
  • Support ad-hoc data investigative analysis and manage project tasks within scope, quality, and timeframe.
  • Conduct source system/data analysis and data profiling.
  • Identify trends in data and create business solutions using data visualizations and storytelling.
  • Map data from source to target and define transformation rules in collaboration with Data Architects.
  • Follow change management stipulations and adhere to compliance and regulatory needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience as a Data Engineer or Business Analyst.
  • Excellent skills in SQL development.
  • Strong analytical skills to recognize data patterns and identify solutions.
  • Experience in data mapping, data profiling, and statistical analysis.
  • Proficient in data mining to extract information and identify correlations.
  • Competent use of Microsoft Office applications including JIRA, Microsoft Access, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong teamwork and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in monitoring data quality and removing corrupt data.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a data-related field.
