About the position
The Sr. Solutions Architect for AWS Cloud Migration at Presidio is responsible for leading presales activities, including discovery, analysis, architecture design, and proposal development to meet customer requirements. This role involves direct client engagement to understand their current IT state and future goals, leveraging technical expertise to recommend solutions that deliver long-term value. The position requires a proactive approach to customer engagement, technical leadership, and collaboration with internal teams and vendor partners.
Responsibilities
- Understand Customer Current State by driving discovery and documenting customer IT goals and initiatives.
- Lead technical opportunity discussions with customer stakeholders to align solutions with their success criteria.
- Analyze client requirements to design and document target architectures and solutions, including hardware, software, and cloud services.
- Maintain technical excellence and evangelism across relevant solution areas, delivering presentations and participating in technical communities.
- Engage in account leadership activities to establish trust with clients and contribute to account planning and events.
- Foster a positive team culture by participating in team activities and collaboration tools.
- Develop relationships with vendor partners to drive go-to-market strategies.
- Plan and execute personal growth and career development activities, seeking improvements in presales processes.
- Mentor and enable others in sales and presales, sharing knowledge and best practices.
Requirements
- Experience in a consulting role.
- Knowledge of AWS Migration framework (MAP) and AWS funding options.
- Hands-on experience migrating workloads to AWS.
- Understanding of cloud adoption models and approaches.
- Expert-level knowledge in cloud management platforms, compute and storage architectures, SDDC & virtualization, data protection platforms, container platforms, and infrastructure as code tools.
- Demonstrated ability to lead presentations and solution demonstrations.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of network route & switch technologies.
- Experience with security, compliance, and governance frameworks.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins and Concourse.
- Understanding of authentication/authorization and directory services.
- Experience with Agile practices and frameworks such as Kanban, SAFe, and Scrum.
- Cloud platform certifications, particularly as a Cloud Solution Architect with AWS.
- Presales experience with a strong bias for action.
- Program or project management experience.
- Experience in preparing RFP/RFI responses and proposals.
