About the position
As a Senior Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will play a pivotal role in assisting the U.S. Department of Navy, Marine Corps, and Combatant Commands in implementing innovative cloud computing solutions. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about leveraging the latest cloud technologies to solve complex technical problems. You will be responsible for guiding these organizations in understanding application architectures and integration approaches, ensuring that projects are set on a successful trajectory from the outset. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape and deliver strategies that promote the broad use of Amazon's utility computing web services, including Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon S3, Amazon EC2, and Amazon CloudFront. Your responsibilities will encompass owning the technical engagement and ensuring the success of specific implementation projects. You will define implementation architectures, respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and develop a deep expertise in AWS technologies, while also gaining a comprehensive understanding of how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform. Additionally, you will serve as a subject matter expert on security as it pertains to customer applications and services. You will engage in thoughtful technical design, demonstrating sensitivity to the unique needs of our customers in the Defense markets for cloud computing. Collaborating with a highly innovative sales and business development team, you will lead efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge within the AWS solution architect community. Responsibilities
- Own the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects.
- Define implementation architectures and respond to RFPs.
- Develop deep expertise in AWS technologies and broad know-how around application and service construction using the AWS platform.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on security related to customer applications and services.
- Provide thoughtful technical design with sensitivity to customer needs in the Defense markets for cloud computing.
- Lead efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge among the AWS solution architect community.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, and data & analytics.
- 3+ years of experience in design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.
- 8+ years of experience in IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries.
- Bachelor's degree or relevant certifications such as CASP+, CCSP, Cloud+, or CSSLP.
Nice-to-haves
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking.
- Knowledge of SAP systems and their architecture and infrastructure needs.
- Experience working with end user or developer communities.
