About the position

The Sr. Solutions Architect at Presidio plays a crucial role in leading presales activities, including discovery, analysis, architecture design, and proposal development to meet customer needs. This position requires direct client engagement to understand their current IT state and future goals, leveraging technical expertise and presales methodologies to recommend solutions that deliver long-term value. The role emphasizes collaboration with internal teams and vendor partners, ensuring alignment with customer stakeholders and driving technical excellence across various solution areas.

Responsibilities

  • Understand Customer Current State by driving discovery and documenting customer IT goals and initiatives.
  • Lead workshops to facilitate relevant discovery and document customer current state for future architecture planning.
  • Identify customer stakeholders and create technical solution approaches aligned with their success criteria.
  • Analyze client requirements to determine target architecture and design solutions, including hardware, software, and cloud services.
  • Create and deliver compelling technical proposals, including drawings and analysis, directly to clients.
  • Maintain high technical excellence and evangelism across multiple solution areas, participating in technical champion programs.
  • Engage in client account activities to establish the Solution Architect as a trusted advisor.
  • Develop working relationships with vendor partners and contribute to go-to-market strategies.
  • Plan and execute personal growth and career development activities, seeking improvements in presales processes.
  • Mentor and enable others in sales and presales, sharing methods and lessons learned.

Requirements

  • Understanding of common IT operating models and frameworks such as OSI and ITIL.
  • Expert-level knowledge in Cisco switching and routing, including Catalyst and Nexus switches, ISR and ASR routers.
  • Experience with Cisco Wireless Controllers, Meraki switches, and access points.
  • Knowledge of security platforms like Palo Alto, Cisco FTD, and Fortinet.
  • Familiarity with NAC platforms such as Cisco ISE or Aruba ClearPass.
  • Experience with cloud platform connectivity including AWS, Azure, and Google GCP.
  • Proficiency in management platforms like Cisco DNA Center and Solarwinds.
  • Experience with SDN and virtualization architectures.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Data Center connectivity such as VPC and LACP.
  • Experience with security, compliance, and governance frameworks.
  • Familiarity with authentication and directory services.
  • Industry certifications such as Cisco CCIE or CCNP.
  • Experience with Aruba Switching and Arista switches.
  • Experience with Cisco Commerce tools like CCW.
  • Presales experience with a strong bias for action.
  • Program or project management experience.
  • Ability to prepare RFP/RFI responses and proposals.
