About the position

The Sr. Solutions Engineer (SE) at Instructure is a pivotal role focused on guiding prospective customers through the evaluation of the Instructure Learning Platform, including products like Canvas LMS and Canvas Studio. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate product capabilities and address customer needs. The SE will collaborate closely with the sales team, acting as a technical advisor and product advocate, ensuring a seamless transition from prospect to customer.

Responsibilities

  • Present the Instructure Learning Platform to stakeholders, from storytelling to technical deep-dives.
  • Develop and deliver tailored product demonstrations that are engaging and informative.
  • Discover and analyze individual customer goals and challenges, mapping them to appropriate platform solutions.
  • Analyze technical requirements in RFIs/RFPs and determine necessary Instructure solutions and services.
  • Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs, addressing client needs effectively.
  • Convey customer requirements to leadership for strategic alignment.
  • Conceptualize and communicate the impact of products and services on sales opportunities within organizations.
  • Document customer requirements to support successful evaluations and implementations.
  • Track project progress through consistent record-keeping and knowledge-sharing.
  • Facilitate a successful transition as prospects become customers.

Requirements

  • Applied understanding of teaching, instructional design, or education administration.
  • Experience in software sales or educational technology is a plus.
  • Technical understanding of education technology, web technology, systems integration, SaaS, and APIs.
  • Self-motivated, self-reliant, collaborative, and communicative.
  • Articulate presentation skills for a wide range of stakeholders, both virtually and in-person.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English is required; Italian is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills tailored for the audience.
  • Organized and analytical, able to eliminate sales obstacles creatively.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced tech environment with a rapidly expanding customer base.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with channel sales and partnerships.
  • Experience working in EMEA countries outside of Europe, such as Africa or the Middle East.
