About the position

Splunk is seeking a highly motivated and inherently curious individual to join our dynamic pre-sales team as a Technical Advisor. In this role, you will be the primary technical advisor for our customers, acting as their technical advocate within Splunk. You will partner with the regional sales team to develop strategic and technical account and territory plans, ensuring that our customers receive the best possible solutions tailored to their needs. Your ability to demonstrate Splunk's products and solutions to customers, whether on-site or remotely, will be crucial, with a focus on value-based differentiators that set us apart from the competition. You will be responsible for responding to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs, showcasing your self-motivation and consistent track record in technical software sales. Strong collaboration skills and dynamic presentation abilities are essential, as you will need to communicate complex ideas clearly to various stakeholders, including through emails and reports. Your organizational and analytical skills will help you eliminate sales obstacles using creative and adaptive approaches, all while working in a fast-paced technical environment with a growing customer base. Responsibilities

  • Partner with the regional sales team to develop strategic and technical account and territory plans.
  • Demonstrate Splunk's products and solutions to customers on-site or remotely, focusing on value-based differentiators.
  • Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate complex ideas clearly to various stakeholders.
  • Organize and analyze information to eliminate sales obstacles using creative and adaptive approaches.
  • Work in a dynamic technical organization with a fast-growing customer base.

Requirements

  • 7+ years related experience in selling and supporting software products to IT organizations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both written and oral, with the ability to communicate complex ideas to all levels of the business.
  • Strong technical fundamentals in relevant IT or Security markets (e.g., networking, systems administration, development, application management, operations).
  • Familiarity with programming or scripting languages (e.g., C/C++, Shell, Perl, Python).
  • Knowledge of 'Big Data' technologies (e.g., Map-Reduce, Hadoop, HBase, Cloudera, Cassandra) is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to visit prospects and customers in the region.
  • Desire to learn, grow, and be part of an expanding and dynamic team.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or substantial relevant on-the-job experience.
  • Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in technical software sales and knowledge of technology.
  • Familiarity with additional programming or scripting languages.
  • Experience with Big Data technologies.
