About the position

The Sr. Solutions Engineer at Splunk is a pivotal role within the pre-sales team, responsible for acting as the primary technical advisor to customers. This position focuses on demonstrating Splunk's products and solutions, developing strategic account plans, and advocating for customer needs within the company. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for technology and customer success.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the regional sales team to develop strategic and technical account and territory plans.
• Demonstrate Splunk's products and solutions to customers, focusing on value-based differentiators.
• Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate clearly in emails and reports.
• Organize and analyze customer needs to eliminate sales obstacles using creative approaches.
• Work in a dynamic technical organization with a growing customer base.

Requirements

• 7+ years related experience in selling and supporting software products to IT organizations.
• Strong interpersonal skills, both written and oral, with the ability to communicate complex ideas to all levels of the business.
• Strong technical fundamentals in IT or Security markets, including networking, systems administration, development, application management, and operations.
• Familiarity with programming or scripting languages such as C/C++, Shell, Perl, or Python is a plus.
• Knowledge of Big Data technologies like Map-Reduce, Hadoop, HBase, Cloudera, or Cassandra is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or substantial relevant on-the-job experience.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
