About the position

As the Senior Solutions Engineer at BECU, you will play a pivotal role in delivering cutting-edge products and exceptional experiences for both internal and external members, as well as business and technology customers. Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate closely with business partners to drive the development of innovative solutions through technical design, ensuring that BECU stands out in the competitive market. You will facilitate strategic solution design by partnering with stakeholders to understand their goals and translating their needs into detailed systems designs that support non-functional requirements. In addition, you will work closely with the Enterprise and Solutions Architecture teams to design new solutions and integrate new technologies, contributing to the higher-level design process within the team. Your expertise will be crucial in developing secure application solutions, where you will design, integrate, and code patterns for strong and secure application development, focusing on creating cloud-ready consumer financial solutions that enhance the existing ecosystem. You will also engage in prototype and solution development, collaborating with technology and business partners to build prototypes that address business challenges within consumer financial product domains. Communication and thought leadership are key aspects of this role, as you will regularly present and communicate technical topics within BECU, maintaining a strong presence in software solution discussions. Responsibilities

• Facilitate strategic solution design by partnering with business stakeholders to understand their strategic goals and translating their needs into detailed systems designs.
• Collaborate with Enterprise and Solutions Architecture teams to design new solutions and integrate new technologies, contributing to the higher-level design process.
• Develop secure application solutions by designing, integrating, and coding patterns for strong and secure application development, focusing on cloud-ready consumer financial solutions.
• Prototype and develop solutions by working with technology and business partners to build prototypes that address business challenges within consumer financial product domains.
• Communicate technical topics regularly within BECU, maintaining a strong presence in software solution discussions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent work experience required.
• Minimum 5 years of applied experience in coding, designing, and implementing solutions in consumer financial products.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with consumer financial products, specializing in UX, integration, and API layer.
• Experience with one of the following: .NET, C#, node.js, modern JavaScript Frameworks, or Python.
• Proficiency in SOLID design principles, Object-Oriented Programming and Design.
• Experience with public cloud technologies including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS offerings.
• Proficient understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery systems and tools.

Nice-to-haves

• Advanced degree in relevant field preferred.
• System administration and automation with Powershell or bash.
• Previous experience leading and collaborating within a team to deliver solutions through all aspects of the SDLC.
• Experience presenting in front of technically adept and non-technical audiences.
