About the position

The Sr. SOX Controls Analyst will be responsible for testing SOX controls for a large telecom client undergoing a third-party audit. This role requires on-site presence in either Dallas, TX or Middletown, NJ, five days a week. The analyst will work closely with stakeholders to gather audit evidence and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley standards, while managing a high volume of manual controls artifacts and evidence under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct SOX controls testing and documentation for compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley standards.
• Gather audit evidence and artifacts to demonstrate compliance effectively.
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to facilitate timely assistance.
• Analyze and assess risks in business or system processes and evaluate internal controls.
• Develop recommendations based on internal control evaluations and testing results.
• Perform walkthroughs, evidence testing, IPC/IUC testing, and document findings in workpapers.

Requirements

• Experience in Sarbanes-Oxley internal control documentation, testing, and assessment.
• Proven ability to gather audit evidence and artifacts for compliance.
• Strong relationship-building skills with stakeholders, especially in challenging situations.
• Experience in analyzing and assessing risk in business or system processes.
• Familiarity with internal control concepts such as COSO and COBIT.
• Experience with evaluating internal controls, including documentation and testing.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a telecom company with SOX controls testing and project management.
• Familiarity with tools and processes for managing manual controls testing and automation.
