About the position

The AWS Ground Station team is seeking a technical product or program manager to oversee the development and delivery of global satellite ground station features and locations. This role involves managing cross-functional teams, addressing technical challenges, and ensuring customer commitments are met while maintaining operational excellence. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background and will play a key role in influencing decisions that impact satellite connectivity in the cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Work across product, program, engineering, hardware, software, and infrastructure teams to manage requirements, scope, and delivery of worldwide AWS Ground Station features and locations.
  • Represent the service architecture and technical needs across Amazon including spectrum licensing.
  • Assess risks, anticipate issues, overcome technical obstacles, and make difficult trade-off decisions while managing cost and schedule to drive deployment goals and meet customer commitments.
  • Represent program status to senior leadership and influence teams' decisions to drive secure and scalable solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience.
  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience.
  • 5+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience.
  • Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience leading highly technical programs involving infrastructure, complex systems, systems engineering.
  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership.
  • Knowledge of and experience with satellite and ground system communication systems and architectures.
  • Strong writing skills, able to communicate technical concepts and decisions to broad audiences in writing.
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above.
