About The Position

The Senior Patient Access Specialist at Roper St. Francis Healthcare is responsible for admitting patients and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of work experience in a patient financial healthcare setting.
• In-depth knowledge of health insurance plans and HIPAA regulations.
• Understanding of Revenue Cycle including admission, billing, payments, and denials.
• Comprehensive knowledge of patient insurance processes for obtaining authorizations and benefits verification.
• Knowledge of medical terminology or CPT or procedure codes.

Nice To Haves

• Data entry experience
• Banking or cash handling experience
• Service industry experience

Responsibilities

• Perform admitting duties for all patients receiving services at Roper Saint Francis Healthcare.
• Train and schedule staff as needed.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
• Interact with clinicians, patients, and insurance companies to facilitate patient access.
• Verify patient insurance benefits and obtain necessary authorizations.
