About the position

The Sr Specialist, CCA (Circuit Card) Electrical Design Engineer at L3Harris is responsible for developing advanced technologies for Unmanned Air Systems (UAS/UAV) and other defense-related systems. This role involves electrical design tasks, including circuit card assembly design, testing, and integration, while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure successful project execution.

Responsibilities

• Conduct electrical design tasks including requirements analysis, specification generation, and interface definition.
• Engage in advanced digital CCA and flex cable design with complex components.
• Design product support test hardware and develop test plans and procedures for digital subsystems.
• Interact with software and FPGA engineers to test and troubleshoot electrical circuits and interfaces.
• Participate in risk assessment and develop mitigation strategies.
• Interface with interdisciplinary design teams and conduct design reviews.
• Manage schedule, cost, and technical responsibilities at the board or sub-circuit level.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with 4 years of experience, or 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Active Secret security clearance is required.
• 2+ years of experience with technologies such as advanced processors, I2C, SPI, RS232, RS422, Ethernet, CAN, PCIe, Op Amps, and motor drivers.
• 3 years of experience with CAD tools for simulation, modeling, and schematic capture.
• Experience with basic digital test equipment including oscilloscopes and signal generators.
• Experience with general circuit board layout techniques.
