About the position

The Sr. Specialist, Database Developer/Administrator at L3Harris is responsible for providing database development and administration support to the Advanced Tracking and Launch Analysis System (ATLAS). This role involves developing required capabilities, delivering those capabilities for integration and testing, and ensuring database security, performance, and standards are maintained. The ideal candidate will work in an agile team environment and must possess a strong command of SQL and a thorough understanding of software engineering principles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide database development and administration support to the Advanced Tracking and Launch Analysis System (ATLAS).
  • Develop required capabilities and deliver those capabilities for integration and testing.
  • Set and maintain database standards.
  • Perform performance tuning of database systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors.
  • Provide on-site support and monitoring of classified systems.
  • Be available for on-call support.
  • Work in a team environment potentially including duties in other technical disciplines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience, or in lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field.
  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to attain a Top Secret/SCI clearance upon hire.
  • Experience with the full software development lifecycle from requirements elicitation to deployment.

Nice-to-haves

  • MCSE/MCSA certifications preferred.
  • Experience with Linux and Windows Server environments.
  • Extensive experience with database technologies (MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB).
  • Experience maintaining production-level systems a plus.
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure) a plus.
  • DoD 8570 compliant, CompTIA Security+ certification a plus.
