About the position

The Sr Specialist, Product and Solutions Marketing at Cardinal Health plays a crucial role in supporting the Medical Segment Solutions business, particularly within the Presource® Products and Services franchise. This position is responsible for managing a diverse portfolio that includes Chemotherapy, Dental, Fluid Management, Lab, Organ Procurement, and Veterinary kits. The Presource® Products and Services division focuses on delivering insight-driven procedural solutions and products that enable customers to enhance efficiencies in patient care. The primary product managed in this role is the aggregation and delivery of procedure-specific bundles, which contain all necessary disposable intraoperative supplies for various surgical or medical procedures. The Presource® line consists of over 18 kit product categories, 17+ GPO contracts, and more than 36,000 finished good SKUs, with an impressive annual shipment of over 83 million units. In this role, the Sr Specialist will develop and implement both upstream and downstream strategies for the procedural portfolio of products. This includes conducting procedural assessments, developing insights, and overseeing the global commercialization of products. The position requires a strong understanding of marketing and product management disciplines to effectively build business plans, product plans, and roadmaps. The Sr Specialist will analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning to make informed product recommendations and translate these insights into clearly defined product requirements and strategies. Additionally, the role involves managing the logistics of conferences, congresses, and events to enhance product and brand awareness. This includes preparing new product information, planning event logistics, negotiating event space, coordinating marketing efforts, and managing program budgets. The Sr Specialist will also measure lead generation resulting from these events, ensuring that Cardinal Health's products are effectively promoted and positioned in the market.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive strategy and results for the procedural kit portfolios.
  • Responsible for upstream and downstream activities including procedural assessment and insight development, creation and global commercialization of products.
  • Demonstrate basic marketing and product management disciplines necessary for building business plans, product plans and roadmaps.
  • Analyze and make product recommendations based on market trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning for targeted segments and channels.
  • Translate market and customer needs across multiple channels into clearly defined product requirements and product line strategy.
  • Proactively gain insights into competitors, their products, pricing, unmet customer needs, and changing clinical practices through observation of operations and interactions with clinical staff.
  • Manage the product life cycle of a product line or a portfolio of product lines from discovery and innovation, to new product planning, new product introduction, post-launch product management, and product retirement.
  • Develop the product strategy for the product line(s), working with cross-functional teams.
  • Identify and remain current on market trends. Determine product lifecycle implications and make decisions to drive market competitiveness and to achieve sustainable economic success.
  • Execute projects to drive penetration of Cardinal branded products.
  • Serve as a procedural/product expert for assigned product lines.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in product marketing or related field, preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
