About the position

The Hispanic Marketing Senior Specialist is responsible for developing and executing strategies to enhance market share growth for Sharp HealthCare within the Hispanic community in San Diego County. This role involves collaboration with various departments and external vendors, fostering community relationships, and promoting health care education across diverse socioeconomic groups. The position also includes supervisory responsibilities for the Hispanic Marketing Intern, providing leadership and training.

Responsibilities

  • Develop outreach strategies and community relations marketing plans.
  • Identify and build effective community partnerships to promote Sharp HealthCare and community health education.
  • Identify potential sponsorship opportunities.
  • Plan and organize community events and Sharp's presence at local health fairs and educational seminars.
  • Interface regularly with management, department heads, volunteers, and community members.
  • Represent Sharp HealthCare on various local community boards and committees.
  • Research and identify marketing strategies to reach San Diego's Hispanic population.
  • Work with marketing leads to develop and implement the overall marketing plan, including advertising and digital marketing.
  • Develop and maintain strategic Spanish-language web content with the Digital Marketing team.
  • Manage Spanish-language social media sites and create a bi-monthly Spanish-language electronic newsletter.
  • Manage media relations with Spanish-language media, including pitching stories and serving as a spokesperson when needed.
  • Supervise the Hispanic Community Relations Intern, providing training and monitoring work projects.
  • Support the translation services program by screening and processing translation requests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in public relations, journalism, marketing, communications or related field.
  • 5 years of marketing, public relations, and community relations experience.
  • Multicultural experience with the Hispanic population through work or formal education.
  • Spanish language proficiency (written and spoken).
  • Problem-solving and customer service skills.
