About the position

The Senior Specialist in Process Automation will be a key member of the Digital Manufacturing Operations Team at the West Point site, focusing on improving and innovating manufacturing processes. This role involves acting as a subject matter expert in various automation technologies, ensuring compliance with global policies and good manufacturing practices, and providing technical support to other engineers. The position requires a blend of independent work and teamwork, emphasizing integrity, precision, and respect.

Responsibilities

• Support automation engineers in technologies such as Distributed Control Systems (Delta V) and Programmable Logic Controllers (Allen Bradley).
• Perform system administrative tasks including system upgrades and setup.
• Monitor and manage system performance, identifying trends and potential issues.
• Develop solutions for operating systems and network interfaces between different systems.
• Participate in investigations of automation anomalies to prevent recurrence.
• Act as a liaison to site Product and Process groups to implement global initiatives at the site level.
• Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting support to other automation engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• 7+ years of experience in process automation, IT/OT, or equivalent.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interface effectively with colleagues and external parties.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
• Technical expertise as a system administrator in Emerson DeltaV.
• Knowledge of various communication protocols, including OPC and BUS technology.
