About the position

The Sr Specialist Member of Technical Staff will collaborate with AT&T's automation experts and 5G Core network technology SMEs to automate the deployment and upgrades of 5G Core Network Functions. This role involves working with advanced technologies such as containerized applications, Azure, CI/CD pipelines, and software development. The engineer will support the development of automated CI/CD workflows using Azure DevOps and will be an active participant in the DevOps team, leading discussions with client project teams to create effective automation solutions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with AT&T Lab SMEs to test artifacts from NF vendors in a Lab environment.
• Update vendor delivered artifacts to meet AT&T Security and DevOps Best Practices.
• Provide feedback to AT&T Tools teams regarding test/automation tools used in pre-deployment and post-deployment activities.
• Lead or participate in PoC activities to develop Azure ADO Pipeline Templates for standardized CI/CD workflows.
• Conduct code reviews for code promotion.
• Attend scrum meetings to provide updates to the DevOps project team.

Requirements

• Knowledge of a scripting language supported in Azure ADO Pipelines.
• Ability to create an ADO pipeline from scratch based on requirements.
• Experience automating manual processes using scripting languages like bash, python, or Infrastructure as Code (e.g., ansible).
• Hands-on experience with containerization of applications/services.
• Experience in creating and maintaining Azure and ADO concepts.
• Working experience with the Linux Operating System.
• Understanding of JSON and YAML files for automated solutions.

Nice-to-haves

• Understanding the purpose of ADO Repos and the use of branching and tagging methods.
• Experience using az cli commands within ADO Pipelines.
• Professional experience with git and managing code drift.
• Experience with Azure Container Registry (ACR) for maintaining images and charts.
• Understanding of Azure Resource Manager and its components.
• Familiarity with API requests and responses.
• Knowledge of Bicep and ARM Templates for building Azure Resources.
• Experience with Azure Operator Service Manager (AOSM).
• Understanding of Azure Keyvault or HashiCorp Vault.
