About the position

The Sr. Specialist, Post Acute role at Abbott is a national position focused on managing market responsibilities to meet and exceed sales plans for targeted products within the Abbott Rapid Diagnostic Infectious Disease business unit. This role involves strategic relationship development with long-term care accounts, partnering with distribution channels, and driving market share growth through consultative sales and marketing strategies. The position requires approximately 70% travel across the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage sales plans for targeted products by analyzing territories for new business opportunities.
  • Conduct consultative sales presentations and progress opportunities through the sales process using Salesforce.com.
  • Support distribution partners and Infectious Disease Account Managers in selling products through training and marketing support.
  • Develop executive-level customer relationships and secure contractual commitments from assigned long-term care accounts.
  • Develop key opinion leaders to serve as reference sites and product advocates.
  • Represent Abbott at local and national long-term care conferences and industry events.
  • Analyze competitors and capture market intelligence to capitalize on current market conditions.
  • Understand state and federal regulations impacting testing in the long-term care market.
  • Coordinate with other Abbott resources as necessary.
  • Develop and submit reports while adhering to corporate guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in sales, marketing, business management or related coursework.
  • 3-5+ years applicable sales experience.
  • Ability to travel nationally across the U.S. at least 70% of the time.

  • Long-term care experience
  • Additional experience/training in laboratory product sales and the diagnostics industry.
  • Point of Care Diagnostics sales experience.
