About the position

The Sr. Specialist, Program Financial Analyst role is a senior professional position focused on managing complex projects within the aerospace and defense sector. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in program controls, particularly in Earned Value Management (EVM) and familiarity with FAR/DFAR contract types. This position involves maintaining data integrity for multiple programs, forecasting financial metrics, and contributing to departmental goals with minimal supervision while mentoring junior team members.

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex projects or processes with general oversight.
  • Maintain Earned Value Management data integrity for multiple programs using Cobra and SAP toolsets.
  • Forecast program performance metrics on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Create, maintain, and update projects in SAP.
  • Ensure accuracy of Estimate at Completion (EAC) for all efforts under responsibility.
  • Create Integrated Program Management Report (IPMR) deliverables.
  • Review variance reports with input from Control Account Managers (CAM).
  • Create and maintain program baseline budgets for performance measurement.
  • Prepare moderately complex proposal cost estimates and pricing data.
  • Support internal and external audits for assigned programs.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, business, accounting, finance, or a related analytical field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or a graduate degree with a minimum of 4 years of related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience is acceptable.
  • Experience with COBRA/SAP.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel.
  • Expertise in Earned Value Management concepts and processes.
  • Experience with risk management, financial management, and work breakdown structures.
  • Familiarity with Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations, ANSI-748-D, EVMIG, and NDIA Intent Guides.
  • US citizenship required.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Experience in a leadership development program.
  • Experience managing the financials for a highly visible program.
  • Knowledge of government contracts, funding profiles, sales outlook, and variance analysis preferred.
  • Experience with contracts such as CPAF, CPFF, T&M, FFP, etc.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to obtain Secret security clearance.
  • Certifications such as PMP, EVMP or similar.
