About the position

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Specialist Solutions Architect who will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in helping customers adopt and build efficient compute architectures on the cloud. This role focuses on creating scalable, highly-available, and cost-effective architectures utilizing EC2 Graviton instances, Spot Instances, and Autoscaling Groups. As an EC2 Efficient Compute Solutions Architect, you will collaborate closely with engineering, business development, and technical field teams to promote the adoption of AWS Graviton-based EC2 instances and Spot Instances. Your responsibilities will include developing white papers, blogs, reference architectures, and presentations to help customers and partners understand the value of Efficient Compute architectures. In this position, you will have the opportunity to shape and deliver strategies that redefine how customers create and consume cloud services at an unprecedented scale. As a technical expert within the field specialist team, you will lead technology thought leadership and implementation with major customers across various EC2 engagements. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, possessing a deep understanding of cloud technologies, use cases, architectures, workflows, and ecosystems. The ability to connect technology with measurable business value is essential, along with a strategic mindset to address business, product, and technical challenges. AWS Graviton powered instances are designed to provide optimal price performance and support a wide range of computing workloads, including application servers, microservices, high-performance computing (HPC), CPU-based machine learning (ML) inference, video encoding, electronic design automation, gaming, open-source databases, and in-memory caches. Many customers, including Epic Games, DIRECTV, Intuit, Lyft, and Formula 1, are leveraging AWS Graviton powered instances for significant performance gains and cost savings. Additionally, Amazon EC2 Spot Instances allow customers to utilize unused EC2 capacity in the AWS cloud at discounts of up to 90% compared to On-Demand prices, making them suitable for various stateless, fault-tolerant, or flexible applications. As an AWS Specialist Solutions Architect, you will engage directly with customers and partners, providing technical advocacy as they build on AWS. You will create collaborative plans with customer and partner account teams to address their cloud needs, continuously enhance your expertise across AWS services, and share your knowledge through various sessions. You will also work with other AWS teams to contribute to the creation of scalable content for the broader community. This role may require travel to client locations, with an estimated travel requirement of 30%.
