About the position

The Sr Specialist Solutions Architect, Database at Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a pre-sales role focused on assisting customers in refactoring existing workloads and designing new cloud-based solutions. The position requires a blend of technical expertise in both relational and non-relational databases, business acumen, and strong interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor, collaborating with AWS sales and product teams to ensure the success of complex customer engagements and drive the adoption of database, analytics, and machine learning workloads in the cloud.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with AWS field sales to support customers with their database workload challenges.
• Represent the voice of the customer to internal teams to drive the best outcomes for customers.
• Produce and validate content like reference architectures, best practice blogs, and other artifacts.
• Capture best-practices from engineering and field teams, share patterns and solutions.
• Collaborate with AWS field teams to build a strong worldwide database and analytics community.

Requirements

• 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience.
• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience.
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience.

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience.
• Knowledge of SAP systems (like SAP Business Suite, S/4HANA, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP HANA, SAP Business Objects, etc.) and their architecture and infrastructure needs.
• Experience working with end user or developer communities.
