About the position

The Sr. Specialist, Talent Acquisition at Banfield Pet Hospital plays a crucial role in managing the sourcing, recruitment, and selection processes for various functions and regions. This hybrid position is based out of the Banfield headquarters in Vancouver, WA, and focuses on securing top talent for leadership and innovative roles within the organization. The individual in this role will perform full lifecycle recruiting, ensuring that the highest level of staffing services is provided while guiding both clients and candidates through the selection process. In this position, the Sr. Specialist will exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. and will be responsible for organizing, leading, and effectively communicating the day-to-day recruitment operations for assigned client groups. This includes developing and executing comprehensive recruitment plans and strategies in partnership with senior leadership to identify functional needs and workforce-planning strategies. The role requires conducting initial interviews to ensure that qualified candidates are referred to hiring managers, performing selection functions such as pre-screening resumes, advising hiring managers, and driving the offer process. Additionally, the Sr. Specialist will maintain accurate documentation on all candidates, searches, and interactions with hiring managers in the applicant tracking system. Meeting established hiring targets and managing client relationships are essential components of this role. The individual will also drive continuous improvement through measurement tools and recruitment analytics, ensuring compliance with governmental regulations and company policies while protecting candidate data. The position requires creativity and political savvy in developing search strategies and sourcing both active and passive candidates through networking and direct sourcing. The Sr. Specialist will represent Banfield at networking and industry events, further enhancing the company's recruitment efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the sourcing, recruitment, and selection process for assigned functions/regions.
  • Organize, lead, and communicate effectively regarding day-to-day recruitment operations.
  • Develop and execute full lifecycle recruitment plans and strategies.
  • Partner with senior leadership to identify functional needs and workforce-planning strategies.
  • Conduct initial interviews to ensure qualified candidates are referred to managers.
  • Perform selection functions including pre-screening resumes and candidates, advising hiring managers, and driving the offer process.

  • Retain and manage relationships with additional recruiting support.
  • Represent Banfield for recruiting purposes at networking and industry events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or similar discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PHR/SPHR and/or AIRS certification is preferred.
  • Six years of full lifecycle in-house corporate recruiting experience is required, with three years recruiting for senior level positions.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of sourcing, networking, qualifying, assessing, and interviewing.
  • Expert level experience to perform searches that produce qualified candidates using various recruitment sources.
  • Experience recruiting for large companies with a multi-unit presence is preferred.
