About the position

The Sr. Specialist - Talent Acquisition is responsible for developing and executing the company's strategic talent acquisition plan for both exempt and non-exempt employees. This role involves partnering with various line organizations to ensure a diverse and qualified candidate pool is identified and hired, while adhering to all relevant laws and corporate policies. The position also includes managing the full recruitment lifecycle, from job postings to orientations, and enhancing the recruitment process through strategic sourcing and partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the company's strategic talent acquisition plan for exempt and non-exempt employees.
  • Partner with line organizations to ensure a diverse slate of candidates are identified and hired.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and municipal laws, corporate policies, and internal governance.
  • Utilize various recruitment sources including job postings, social media, and partnerships to identify qualified candidates.
  • Maintain corporate consistency in the recruitment process for management and union positions.
  • Manage the job posting and transfer process for management and union roles, recommending improvements.
  • Utilize and maintain the ATS recruiting module and career websites, recommending enhancements.
  • Conduct training for new team members on the recruitment and vetting process.
  • Administer and evaluate pre-employment background checks for prospective employees.
  • Develop an annual strategy for recruiting high potential college graduates for the Leadership Development Program.
  • Establish partnerships with college career centers for recruiting students for internships.
  • Research and implement strategic sourcing methods to enhance diversity in the applicant pool.
  • Facilitate orientations for new management and union hires.
  • Manage the full life cycle recruitment process for both management and union roles.
  • Analyze recruiting data to plan resources and timing of the selection process.
  • Identify gaps in the recruiting process and recommend solutions to streamline hiring.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of work experience, or Associate's Degree and 7 years of work experience, or High School Diploma/GED and 9 years of work experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in managing recruitment processes.
  • Agile learner with proficiency in recruitment systems.
  • Project management experience with tight deadlines.
  • Strong recruitment experience, preferably in Human Resources or Talent Acquisition.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least three years of work experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with recruiting and sourcing techniques, federal selection guidelines, and employment laws.
  • SHRM and/or Recruitment Certification.
