About the position
The Senior Specialty Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for overseeing and participating in the purchase, installation, and implementation of LAN/WAN systems, firewalls/IPS, and enterprise wireless networks. This role requires extensive hands-on knowledge in various networking protocols and technologies, ensuring adherence to standard design methodologies and best practices. The engineer will also provide leadership and training to junior engineers and manage technical network design projects.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and participate in the purchase, installation, and implementation of LAN/WAN systems, firewalls/IPS, and enterprise wireless networks.
- Perform detailed problem analysis and troubleshooting, leading collaborative efforts to solve problems.
- Provide work leadership and training to junior network engineers.
- Manage project leadership for technical network design and implementations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in network design, operation support, hands-on implementation, and configuration of routers, switches, wireless access points, and firewalls.
- Certification or willingness to obtain CCNP or CCDP; CCIE is a plus.
Nice-to-haves
- In-depth knowledge of BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs/Spanning-Tree, high-available network topologies, VoIP, QoS, data center infrastructure, cloud infrastructure (Microsoft Azure), and security/encryption technologies.
- Familiarity with multiple vendor portfolios including Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, and VMWare.
