About the position

The Sr. SQL Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for maintaining the database systems to ensure they operate smoothly 24/7. This role focuses on providing seamless data flow throughout the organization, ensuring both backend data structure and frontend accessibility for end-users. The DBA will monitor performance, implement changes, and ensure data security and integrity while providing support and training to users.

Responsibilities

• Monitor database performance and identify problems, implementing changes as necessary.
• Perform regular tests and evaluations to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity.
• Determine, enforce, and document database policies, procedures, and standards.
• Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users.
• Minimize database downtime and manage parameters for fast query responses.
• Ensure adequate database backups and recovery capabilities in case of memory loss.
• Liaise with senior IT department personnel on various issues.
• Collaborate with external consultants and contractors.
• Manage project tasks related to database administration.
• Troubleshoot problems in collaboration with Business Analysts, Server Admins, and Network Admins.
• Involve in application installation and adhere to documentation requirements.

Requirements

• Microsoft SQL expertise (Level 2 DBA moving towards Level 3).
• Experience in other SQL Database Administration.
• Oracle Database experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Postgres Database experience.
