About the position

The Sr. SQL Database Administrator will be responsible for managing and supporting a commercial cloud services infrastructure, specifically for Army and DoD IT systems. This role involves extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server and its high availability features, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of database systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support Microsoft SQL Server databases in a cloud services environment.
• Implement and maintain high availability features such as Failover Clustering, Log Shipping, and AlwaysOn Availability Groups.
• Install and configure SQL Server 2014 and higher, including service packs and cumulative updates.
• Utilize PowerShell for automation and management tasks related to SQL Server.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices for database management.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise Edition and database administration.
• Proficient in Microsoft SQL Server High Availability features.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 and above.
• Installation and configuration experience with SQL Server 2014 and higher.
• Knowledge of PowerShell 5.0 or higher.
• Microsoft SQL Server 2014 (or higher) certification is required.
• CompTIA Security+ and Computing Environment (CE) Certification (e.g., MCSE, Server+).
