About the position

The Sr. SQL Database Developer position at a growing company in the Financial Services industry involves designing, implementing, and maintaining operational and reporting database systems. The role focuses on constructing data models and developing business logic within stored procedures and ETL transformations, ensuring data integrity and quality assurance while supporting the company's IT roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop operational and reporting database systems utilizing the latest techniques in data modeling and ETL concepts.
• Model database solutions and ensure quality assurance and timely delivery of data.
• Investigate, troubleshoot and correct data and user related system errors, and ensure data integrity.
• Manage SQL Server in an enterprise environment, including installation, configuration, backup, recovery, upgrades and schema changes.
• Translate stakeholder requirements from formal requirements document into database design.
• Contribute to supporting an IT roadmap that is forward thinking and sets the groundwork for reducing maintenance costs while meeting or exceeding business objectives.
• Promote a constructive, positive team environment and maintain a spirit of openness, information sharing, inquisitiveness, problem-solving and support for common goals.

Requirements

• Proficiency in T-SQL, including writing stored procedures and ETL processes.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and SQL Server Management Studio.
• Familiarity with Dedicated SQL Pools (previously SQL DW).
• Experience with enterprise-level schedulers such as Active Batch or Control M.
• Knowledge of PowerShell and SSIS is preferred.
