About the position

The Sr. SQL Developer position at Charter Communications/Spectrum is a critical role within the Data Insights team, specifically focusing on WiFi and Internet services. This position is based in Greenwood Village, CO, and operates on a hybrid work schedule, requiring three days onsite and two days remote each week. The role is initially offered as a 12-18 month contract with the intent to convert to a direct-hire position, reflecting the ongoing need for skilled professionals in this area. The job entails analyzing data to support the Internet and WiFi teams, ensuring that the data-driven insights align with business objectives and enhance customer experiences. The interview process for this position is structured to assess both technical skills and team fit. It begins with a take-home Glider Assessment focused on SQL, followed by a 30-minute Webex panel interview with two team members. This panel will discuss the team dynamics, current projects, and include a live SQL exercise to validate the assessment results. A subsequent one-hour Webex panel with four team members will delve deeper into project specifics and expectations. In this role, the new team member will be quickly integrated into the team, with a focus on familiarizing them with existing processes related to data handling and query writing. The position requires a strong foundation in SQL, as well as experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI. The team is committed to easing new members into more complex technical tasks involving AWS services like EC2 and Lambda, ensuring a smooth transition into the role.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze data to support Internet and WiFi teams and customers.
  • Familiarize new team members with processes related to working with data sets and writing queries.
  • Utilize SQL, Athena, and Tableau for data analysis and visualization.
  • Assist in ramping up new members quickly to handle technical tasks involving AWS services such as EC2 and Lambda.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of SQL experience.
  • Experience in data visualization and analysis.
  • Proficiency in Tableau or similar tools like PowerBI.

Nice-to-haves

  • Version control experience with Git or Gitlab.
  • Scripting experience in Bash, Shell, or Python.
  • Experience with AWS services such as Lambda and EC2.
