The Sr SQL Server Functional/Application DBA position is a critical role within a Global DBA unit, focusing on advanced database administration tasks and support for large-scale enterprise applications. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in SQL Server, particularly versions 2014 to 2019. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing 3rd Level support, which is the highest level of support, ensuring that database systems are running optimally and efficiently. The role involves working with substantial data warehouse sizes of 30TB or more, which necessitates a deep understanding of database management and performance optimization techniques. In this role, the DBA will conduct general database administration tasks, including database implementation, code deployments, backups, and user account management. The candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in database administration, with at least 7 years specifically as a SQL Server DBA. The position also requires experience in functional and application DBA roles, with a strong emphasis on administering advanced database features such as clustering, encryption, logical/physical standby, ETL, and replication. Performance optimization of SQL code and server databases is a key responsibility, as is the creation and debugging of SSIS packages. The DBA will work closely with large-scale enterprise applications across multiple data centers, ensuring that all database systems are integrated and functioning seamlessly.
