About the position

At Northrop Grumman, we are seeking a Sr Staff Cyber Software Tester to join our team based in Annapolis Junction, MD. This role is pivotal in testing, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems that are critical to our operations. The successful candidate will work on a variety of software systems, including processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, and real-time systems, ensuring they meet documented requirements. The position involves designing, developing, documenting, testing, and debugging applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Additionally, the role requires conducting multidisciplinary research and collaborating with equipment designers and hardware engineers to plan, design, develop, test, and utilize electronic data processing systems for both product and commercial software. As a Sr Staff Cyber Software Tester, you will be responsible for developing and executing test procedures for software components, ensuring that all systems function as intended. This position not only focuses on software testing but also involves research and requirements management, making it essential for candidates to have a strong understanding of software development processes. Responsibilities

  • Test, maintain, and enhance complex software systems based on documented requirements.
  • Design, develop, document, test, and debug applications software and systems.
  • Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers and hardware engineers.
  • Develop and execute test procedures for software components.
  • Perform research in addition to software testing efforts.
  • Analyze system capabilities to resolve problems and determine user needs.

Requirements

  • A current and active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph through the MD customer is required.
  • Twenty (20) years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Four (4) years of additional Software Engineering experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
  • Understanding of design, development, documenting, testing software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
  • Experience developing and executing test procedures for software components.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Java programming language is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and individually is preferred.
  • Capable of performing research in addition to testing efforts.
  • Ability to determine computer user needs and analyze system capabilities to resolve problems.
