About the position

The Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) role is focused on enhancing the Reliability Engineering team by taking ownership of the availability, performance, and scalability of critical shared services. This position emphasizes continuous improvement, automation, and collaboration with development teams to ensure system reliability and efficiency. SREs are responsible for maintaining Service Level Objectives, measuring system health, and participating in incident response and postmortems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Service Level Objectives for owned systems.
• Measure and improve availability, latency, and overall system health.
• Write automation to scale systems sustainably and recover services quickly when issues occur.
• Partner with development teams to enhance system reliability and release velocity.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response activities.
• Conduct postmortems and root cause analysis for incidents.
• Advocate for strong engineering practices to build and run scalable and reliable services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with Object Oriented programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or Go.
• Experience with Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Familiarity with algorithms and data structures.
• Experience in observability practices including logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code.
• Understanding of authentication and authorization protocols, identity and access management, and application security.
