About the position

As a Senior SSD Systems Design Engineer at Micron Technology, you will be part of the Product Development Team responsible for taking Solid State Drives (SSDs) from design to high volume manufacturing. This role involves leading debug activities, performing system level testing, and contributing to the continuous improvement of SSD capabilities while maintaining effective communication with cross-functional teams and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead debug activities during product development and drive technical issues to closure
• Perform SSD system level testing and characterization
• Provide updates to the Product Development Team
• Feed forward system lessons learned for future products
• Contribute to continuous improvement of drive capabilities

Requirements

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• Knowledge of SSD products and system application
• Hardware design and debug hands-on experience
• Proficiency with common lab tools such as logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, oscilloscopes
• Python proficiency
• Experience with NAND flash and SSD ASIC
• Understanding of PCIe and NVMe interface protocol
• Ability to plan, schedule and prioritize tasks
• Effective communication skills with cross functional development teams

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence
• Comprehension of the latest storage PCIe and NVMe interface specifications
• Comprehension of NAND and DRAM media specifications and operation
• Ability to drive system engineering efforts through all aspects of new product development
