About the position

The Sr. Staff Application Engineer at Synopsys plays a crucial role in enhancing the usability and adoption of the company's products and solutions. This position involves providing technical support, diagnosing complex issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive product enhancements. The engineer will leverage their expertise in RTL to GDSII full flow and advanced node design methodologies to optimize chip design and ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Providing technical and engineering insight to support and improve the usability, applicability, and adoption of Synopsys products and solutions.
  • Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex technical issues on customer installations, and deploying and training customers on new implementations and capabilities.
  • Reviewing and understanding feedback on product performance from customers and application partners and working directly with R&D to develop and implement technical roadmaps, specifications, and validation for improvements and enhancements.
  • Partnering with customer technical managers and Sales to identify business challenges, develop effective technical solutions for new accounts, and increase utilization and retention of products on current accounts.
  • Utilizing knowledge of RTL to GDSII full flow and advanced node design methodologies to provide expert guidance and support.
  • Staying current with industry trends and advancements to ensure Synopsys remains at the forefront of technology innovation.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with RTL to GDSII full flow and advanced node design methodologies.
  • Strong technical and engineering insight to support and improve product usability and adoption.
  • Proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Experience collaborating with R&D to develop and implement technical roadmaps and product enhancements.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to train and support customers effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in customer-facing roles in a technical capacity.
  • Familiarity with chip design optimization for power, cost, and performance.
