About the position

As a Senior Staff Content Designer at Pinterest, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience across our innovative product areas, particularly within the Shopping, Content, and AI Foundations teams. Your primary responsibility will be to advocate for the Pinterest user experience by crafting meaningful and useful content that enhances product usability. This involves creating product flows, UI language, in-product education, product naming, and navigation design that aligns with Pinterest's voice and mission. You will be expected to bring a high level of craft and strategic thinking to your work, ensuring that the content you design not only meets user needs but also drives product narratives across various platforms. In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including researchers, product managers, engineers, and marketing stakeholders, to establish cohesive and conversational experiences. Your ability to use empathy, logic, and data will be crucial in informing your design choices. You will conduct audits, identify patterns, and lead brainstorming sessions to create the best content experiences possible. As an expert in your product and user group, you will leverage research to understand audience needs and incorporate human voices into problem statements and product UI. This position requires a strategic mindset and a proven track record in user-focused product content design. You will be expected to lead multiple complex workstreams while mentoring and guiding other content designers in their craft. Your passion for building accessible and inclusive products will be essential as you contribute to Pinterest's mission of helping users find inspiration and create a life they love.

Responsibilities

  • Craft, write, edit, test and improve the content that makes our product easier to use, including product flows, UI language, in-product education, product naming and terminology, and navigation design.
  • Use empathy, logic, and data to inform design choices, conducting audits, identifying patterns, and leading brainstorming sessions to design the best content experiences.
  • Collaborate with researchers, product managers, engineers, marketing, and business stakeholders to establish conversational, cohesive experiences with a unified voice.
  • Become an expert in your product and user group, tuning in to research to learn about audience needs and bringing human voices into problem statements and product UI.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in user-focused product content design.
  • Experience shaping content for multi-disciplinary projects.
  • A portfolio demonstrating breadth and creativity and proven experience in content design, design thinking, and product strategy.
  • Strong experience leading multiple complex workstreams.
  • Proven experience with product and design strategic thinking, and information architecture design.
  • Ability to mentor and help lead content design craft and skills.
  • Passion for building accessible, inclusive, quality products.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $141,950-$292,000 USD, based on factors including location, travel, relevant prior experience, or particular skills and expertise.
  • Equity eligibility for the position.
  • Flexible work model (PinFlex) allowing for remote work with in-office collaboration 1-2 times per quarter.
