About the position

As an electrical engineer on the avionics team at Array Labs, you will play a critical role in designing and developing the first autonomous formation flying distributed satellite constellation. This position involves collaboration with various engineering teams to create cutting-edge hardware that will be deployed in space, contributing to the development of a real-time 3D model of the Earth.

Responsibilities

• System-level and module-level design for distributed satellite constellations
• Collaborate with flight software, GNC, mechanical, and spacecraft operations teams to design and validate avionics electronics
• Develop circuit designs and build simulations to analyze system performance
• Design electronics for orbital environments
• Create spacecraft hardware requirements, specifications, and test procedures
• Support flight software bring-up and validation by developing and implementing hardware test plans

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
• 4+ years of experience in electronics design, fabrication, and testing
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to learn new concepts rapidly and in a self-directed manner
• High levels of self-motivation and personal accountability
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under significant time constraints

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in electronics design for mission-critical or space-flight applications
• 2+ years of experience designing avionics or flight-control systems
• 2+ years of experience working in fast-paced/startup environments
• Experience in the design, integration, and testing of avionics and flight-control systems
• Strong understanding of computers and programming languages
• Demonstrated ability to work in a highly cross-functional role
• Experience working in a lab and using laboratory test equipment
