About the position

The Sr. Staff Electrical Engineer at Vitesco Technologies USA LLC is responsible for specifying controls equipment for new production cells, developing and supporting PLC and HMI programs, and implementing industrial networks. This role involves collaboration with central and local teams to present project statuses and new technologies, ensuring the efficient operation of production equipment in an automotive environment.

Responsibilities

• Specify controls equipment for new production cells.
• Develop, implement, and support PLC and HMI programs.
• Develop, implement, and support industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, TCP/UDP, Serial, IO-Link).
• Implement interfaces between PLC and MES system (Camline).
• Support production equipment including PLC, HMI, VFD, servo systems, vision systems (Cognex, Keyence), RFID, and readers.
• Develop new reports and supervision systems using Ignition platform (Java/Python).
• Participate in meetings with central and local teams to present project status and new technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a foreign equivalent.
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible automotive experience as an Engineer or a similar position.
• Experience in developing and supporting high volume production equipment.
• Ignition development experience using Java and Python.
• Proficiency in programming languages: VB.NET, C#, Java, Python, and SCADA.
• Experience with MES Systems (Camline).
• Familiarity with PLC and HMI tools: Studio 500, 5000, FactoryTalk View, View Designer, TIA Portal, WinCC, Simatic Manager.
• Experience with automotive camera systems (Cognex and Keyence), 1D and 2D readers, VFD, Servo Systems, and RFID.
• Knowledge of industrial networks, including Ethernet, IP, TCP, UDP, Serial, EtherCAT, ProfiNET, IO-Link.
