About the position

This position at Thermo Fisher Scientific involves joining a senior-level team focused on the design and development of analytical instrumentation within the Life Sciences Mass Spectrometry organization. The role is critical in creating products that impact human health, particularly in areas such as water and food safety. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with engineers and scientists to develop high-precision analog and low-frequency RF systems for scientific instruments.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and scientists designing high precision analog and low frequency RF systems for scientific instruments.
  • Apply efforts to proof-of-concept experiments, product improvements, and new product development.
  • Collaborate with scientists, mechanical and electrical engineering teams to bring products to market.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering (M.S. degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of product development and commercialization design experience as a Hardware/Electrical engineer.
  • Experience designing precision analog circuits and low frequency RF circuits.
  • Expertise in understanding of analog circuits involving opamps, FETs, BJTs, etc.
  • Experience applying analog laboratory test equipment including signal generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power meters, and network analyzers.
  • Strong hands-on use and knowledge of design and testing tools such as OrCAD, PSpice, Allegro, & DMM's.
  • Experience on a product development team from initial investigation, and design through to manufacturing introduction.
  • Solid understanding of CE and product safety regulatory standards.
  • Capable of leading and driving design of large electronic sub-systems.
  • Excellent organization skills, detail-oriented, and strong communication and problem-solving skills.
