About the position

At TJX, the Enterprise Data & Analytics (EDA) organization is embarking on a multiyear journey to build a scalable and reliable cloud-based data analytics ecosystem. This initiative is focused on delivering significant value to business users globally. The primary goal is to enable data as an asset by leveraging advanced technology to provide business value across TJX's global operations. The EDA team is dedicated to assisting various business domains within TJX in making informed, fact-based decisions by integrating and analyzing data, thereby establishing a solid foundation for competitive advantage. As a Senior Staff Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, construction, and maintenance of our Enterprise Data analytics platform. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with development, security, and architecture teams to deliver robust, stable, and secure Data & Analytics solutions. You will focus on automation and DevOps practices to ensure seamless operations. Working with cross-functional teams, you will enhance data workflows, optimize processes, and drive efficiency across the organization. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about cutting-edge technologies and have substantial experience with Azure Administration, Azure DevOps, and Databricks.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with development, security, and architecture teams to deliver robust Data & Analytics solutions.
  • Design, build, and maintain the Enterprise Data analytics platform.
  • Focus on automation and DevOps to ensure seamless operations.
  • Enhance data workflows and optimize processes to drive efficiency.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines for data analytics, including code deployments and database changes.
  • Manage Azure resources, services, and security configurations.
  • Identify bottlenecks and optimize query performance.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to improve data ingestion and transformation processes.
  • Implement security best practices for Azure data services.
  • Manage application access controls and permissions to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Promote a culture of continuous integration, delivery, and monitoring.
  • Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies for on-premise and Azure solutions.
  • Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Engage in incident management, capacity planning, and advanced monitoring for Data & Analytics platforms.
  • Share knowledge with team members and contribute to internal training sessions.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of IT experience.
  • Strong Azure Administration and Data Analytics product support experience.
  • Experience in improving processes and automation for seamless operations.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines for all aspects of data analytics including code deployments, database changes, and schema updates.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles using tools like Git Actions, Azure DevOps, Python, Ansible, Terraform.
  • Experience in managing Azure resources, services, and security configurations.
  • Expertise in identifying bottlenecks and optimizing query performance.
  • Experience in incident management, capacity planning, and advanced monitoring with a focus on Data & Analytics platforms.

Nice-to-haves

  • Successfully completed Certification as Azure Administrator within the past 6 months.
  • Successfully completed Certification as Azure DevOps Engineer within the past 6 months.
  • Prior experience working with Azure Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and ADLS.
  • Prior work experience in delivering CI/CD solutions for Data Analytics.
