About the position

The Sr Staff Engineer - Systems Engineering (Mechanical - Thermal Management Systems) position at GE Renewable Energy Power and Aviation is a pivotal role that encompasses a comprehensive approach to systems engineering. This role is centered on the integration of both business and technical needs to deliver high-quality products that meet user requirements. The successful candidate will engage in a robust process that includes the design, creation, and optimization of systems, which involves identifying and quantifying system requirements, developing alternative design concepts, conducting design trade studies, and ensuring that the selected designs are effectively integrated and executed from concept through to production and operation. In this role, the engineer will lead design activities at the component, module, and system levels, managing product and systems requirements, specifications, and flowdown. The engineer will also drive validation and verification activities for the overall product/system, including system-level testing, and manage the interfaces between design, systems, and execution organizations. Establishing product requirements, defining components and subsystems, and providing a forward-looking strategy for platform and technology development are key responsibilities. The engineer will also contribute to strategy and policy development, ensuring delivery within their area of responsibility while maintaining awareness of the latest technical developments in their field.
