About the position

The Sr. Staff Linux Site Reliability Engineer at Archer will play a crucial role in providing Linux support for business-critical systems and leading the IT department in automation and infrastructure as code. This position involves designing and implementing an IT observability platform based on open-source standards while collaborating closely with engineering, research and development, and information security teams to ensure safe and effective use of the latest technologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct Linux support for business-critical systems.
• Lead IT in Linux automation and infrastructure as code.
• Design and implement an IT observability platform based on open-source standards.
• Liaise with engineering, research and development, and information security teams.
• Administer Linux systems.
• Design and refactor Ansible playbooks.
• Implement Terraform for infrastructure management.
• Lead the future Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Linux administration.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar field.
• Licenses or certifications related to the field.
• Expertise in Python and Bash scripting.
• Experience with AWS and IAM.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IAC) and CloudFormation.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a similar field.
• Experience in the aircraft or airline industry.
• Experience as a Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) Lead.
