About the position

The Senior Staff Network Engineer - Perimeter at NBCUniversal is responsible for managing and deploying enterprise-level F5 BIG-IP Security and Load Balancer Platforms. This role requires extensive experience in network technologies, particularly in application load balancing, to support NBC's global operations. The successful candidate will work within a hybrid environment, collaborating with a diverse customer base and ensuring compliance with network infrastructure requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and manage enterprise F5 BIG-IP Security and Load Balancer Platforms, including LTM, DNS, AFM & APM.
• Manage F5 BIG-IQ deployment and management.
• Support F5 Distributed Cloud Multi-cloud deployment with RE and On Prem CE.
• Develop and update technical documentation for 24/7 NetOps teams to support troubleshooting and triage efforts.
• Participate in a global SRE on-call rotation for Tier3/4 escalation support.
• Manage reporting and dashboards for overall network infrastructure to ensure visibility and compliance with lifecycle management.
• Provide expertise in Enterprise Application Delivery infrastructure and Distributed application technologies.
• Engage in process automation and product lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with Internal Audit and Cyber teams to define and document compliance-related network infrastructure requirements.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in deployment and management of enterprise F5 BIG-IP Security and Load Balancer Platforms.
• Experience with F5 BIG-IQ deployment and management.
• Experience with F5 Distributed Cloud Multi-cloud deployment.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment commutable to NBC core production locations.
• Strong documentation skills for technical processes and troubleshooting.
• Experience in managing network infrastructure reporting and dashboards.
• Expertise in Enterprise Application Delivery infrastructure and load balancing technologies.
• Experience with process automation and product lifecycle management.
• Extensive experience working with Internal Audit and Cyber teams.

Nice-to-haves

• F5 Certified Solution Expert or equivalent certification.
• Palo Alto Network PCSAE/PCNSE Certified or equivalent experience.
• CCNP Routing and Switch Certified or 5+ years of enterprise network engineering experience.
• Experience with ServiceNow CMDB Workflow and Processes, API, and automating workflows.
• Strong vendor management skills and experience with OEM platform reviews.
