About the position

The Sr. Staff Requirements and Test Plans Systems Engineer will lead the development of new technologies within the Microelectronics Design and Applications (MDA) team at Northrop Grumman. This role focuses on converting customer requirements into comprehensive systems solutions while managing technical, schedule, and cost constraints. The engineer will collaborate with various disciplines to ensure successful integration and testing of systems, while also providing leadership and communication to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions.
  • Perform functional analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies.
  • Lead and report progress for requirements documentation and technical risk management.
  • Support the Systems Architect with program-specific responsibilities.
  • Design and develop sensor system architectures and define key capabilities and performance requirements.
  • Collaborate with ASIC engineers to explore performance and power trade-offs.
  • Coordinate subsystems design and integration into higher-level systems.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and developing technologies for system insertion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 14 years of experience, a Master's degree with 12 years, or a PhD with 10 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with RF Systems Engineering, ASIC Product lifecycle, Systems Integration, and Device Characterization.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex problems.
  • Active DoD TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph.

Nice-to-haves

  • Current/active DoD Top Secret Clearance and SCI w/FSP.
  • Leadership experience with development and/or production program execution.
  • Experience leading technical teams.
  • High proficiency in technical problem solving, including root cause analysis and solution development.
  • Silicon bring-up and debug experience.
