About the position

Cribl Inc is seeking a Sr Staff Engineer focused on front-end development to lead and mentor a diverse, remote-first team of software developers. This role is pivotal in designing and developing user interfaces and visualizations for Cribl Search, which aims to revolutionize observability data management by enabling users to query data directly from its source without the need for expensive data replication. The ideal candidate will be passionate about building high-performance web applications and thrive in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Drive and mentor a remote-first team of software developers focused on front-end development.
• Design and develop scalable, robust, and user-friendly user interfaces and visualizations.
• Collaborate with design partners and product managers to accelerate product innovation.
• Lead projects autonomously, ensuring consistency in code walkthroughs, design reviews, and mentorship.
• Simplify complex logic with clean, maintainable solutions.
• Work on data visualization problems with large volumes of data.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering (MS preferred) with 10+ years of industry experience.
• Ability to problem solve from first principles while maintaining focus on overarching objectives.
• Demonstrated experience working with design partners and product managers.
• Experience building visualizations and analytic systems that handle structured and unstructured data at scale.
• Strong architectural background with a focus on maintainability and separation of concerns.
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex technical topics to various stakeholders.
