About the position

The Sr Staff Software Engineer at Continental Automotive Systems, Inc. is responsible for the design, implementation, and testing of software for telematics applications and middleware. This role involves analyzing system requirements, defining software architecture, and conducting root cause analysis for software defects. The engineer will also be tasked with maintaining existing software architecture and implementing automated test cases, contributing to the advancement of automated driving technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in software design and implementation for telematics applications and middleware.
  • Analyze system and software requirements to define detailed software design.
  • Implement middleware software in C code based on software requirements and design.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for software defects and resolve problem reports for telematics control units.
  • Design and document test cases that meet telematics software requirements and report test results.
  • Act as the owner of telematic features, responsible for status reporting, planning, estimations, and quality.
  • Define and document software architecture and maintain existing software architecture.
  • Define technical solutions for change requests and implement automated test cases for both black box and white box testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate related work experience.
  • 5 years of experience developing software for embedded devices.
  • 5 years of programming experience using C for embedded devices.
  • 5 years of experience using CAN and UDS.
  • 5 years of experience developing software for AUTOSAR Classic Platform.
  • 3 years of experience designing, integrating, and implementing flash bootloaders.
  • 3 years of experience developing and maintaining software using Git.
  • 2 years of experience using Doors for requirement management.
  • 2 years of experience developing software for wireless features in embedded devices, including Bluetooth or Wifi.
