About the position

The Sr. Staff Technical Product Manager for Assembly MES Systems at GE Aerospace is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of manufacturing execution systems (MES) that support production and development assembly. This role involves ensuring operational stability, compliance with cybersecurity and enterprise architectural requirements, and maintaining high availability and performance of the systems. The manager will collaborate with various teams to support product delivery, manage incidents, and enhance existing business processes through effective stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for end-to-end lifecycle of MES applications ecosystems supporting GE Aerospace production and development assembly.
  • Act as a subject matter expert of the technology stack and application blueprint.
  • Maintain operational stability, address tech debt, and minimize defects for legacy data products.
  • Partner with business, cyber, and technical teams to support compliance and security strategies.
  • Analyze and plan for the impact of outages and changes in infrastructure and business processes.
  • Ensure successful delivery of product changes supporting compliance projects.
  • Interact with customers/stakeholders for requirements-gathering and product feedback.
  • Define, implement, and test application configurations to meet business needs.
  • Write/update test scripts, cutover plans, and deployment documentation.
  • Execute functional tests, system integration tests, and support user acceptance tests (UAT).
  • Interact with software vendors and internal developers to resolve defects or request enhancements.
  • Present operational status to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Advocate for users and stakeholders in digital technology program plans.
  • Go to Gemba to understand product and processes on the assembly shop floor.
  • Prioritize backlog of work focusing on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience, or an associate's degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience, or a high school diploma with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Computer Science or STEM related fields.

  • Ability to read and write complex SQL.
  • Experience in root cause investigation and corrective action implementation.
  • Knowledge of technical topics such as tech stacks, caching, APIs, data transfer, scalability, and security.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to balance long-term and short-term implications of decisions.
  • Knowledge of integration technologies and writing requirements/design specifications.
