About the position

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering is seeking a highly experienced Structural Engineer to join their Temporary Works Group. This role involves supporting all aspects of the construction process through innovative design engineering, including conceptual designs, structural calculations, and on-site engineering support. The engineer will work on various temporary structures and construction methods, ensuring safety and efficiency in Kiewit's projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop drawings and calculations for temporary works and construction methods.
  • Create heavy lift plans including site logistics, equipment selection, and design of custom rigging and lifting devices.
  • Evaluate existing structures for construction loads and demolition planning.
  • Conduct structural analysis to ensure stability during temporary conditions of structures.
  • Support excavation systems or cofferdams for construction below grade.
  • Design temporary bridges, trestles, work platforms, and fall protection systems.
  • Perform and review calculations and design drawings according to industry codes and standards.
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of design deliverables.
  • Identify design risks and assist with risk mitigation planning.
  • Assist in project management including budgets, schedules, and client communication.
  • Provide on-site design engineering support and inspections.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer licensure or eligibility within the United States.
  • Strong academic knowledge of structural engineering.
  • Experience with engineering design software such as AutoCAD, BlueBeam, MathCAD, Navisworks, RISA-3D.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong inter-personal skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Ability to organize and handle multiple project assignments.
  • Ability to travel or relocate based on business needs.
