About the position

The Sr Structural Engineer will play a crucial role in a professional structural engineering firm, focusing on providing innovative design solutions for various clients including owners, developers, public agencies, architects, and builders throughout New England. This position involves a hybrid work schedule, allowing for flexibility between remote and in-office work, and requires a versatile engineer with strong project management skills and experience in steel and concrete building design.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the design team and construction teams to develop appropriate structural solutions.
• Develop designs, calculations, and structural models using hand calculations, in-house spreadsheets, and structural analysis software.
• Prepare structural reports, special studies, and construction drawings for various project types.
• Engage in the entire project process from start to finish, including developing proposals and closing out projects.
• Perform periodic site visits during construction and prepare written field reports.

Requirements

• Experience in steel and concrete building design.
• Construction document preparation and construction administration skills.
• Project management experience.
• Ability to prepare design concepts quickly and efficiently.
• Experience with structural analysis software, preferably RAM Structural System and RAM Elements.

Nice-to-haves

• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
• Experience with Bluebeam.
• Ability to develop and delegate work to CAD/Revit Technicians.
