The Senior Structural Engineer/Designer position involves designing structural systems for a diverse range of project types, including but not limited to manufacturing, distribution, data centers, commercial buildings, self-storage facilities, churches, historical structures, public sector projects, retail spaces, adaptive reuse projects, and renovations. The role requires a deep understanding of existing facility analysis and the ability to create innovative solutions tailored to each project's unique requirements. In this position, the engineer will interact directly with clients and participate in meetings with architects and contractors. This includes reviewing structural documentation and managing the supervision and mentoring of junior staff members. The Senior Structural Engineer will be responsible for preparing design calculations and overseeing the preparation of construction documents. Additionally, the role involves reviewing shop drawings and submittals, performing site reviews, and preparing responses to Requests for Information (RFIs). Coordination across all disciplines is crucial to ensure that deliverables meet client expectations and adhere to the company's quality standards. Candidates should have extensive experience in designing with various materials, including wood, steel, load-bearing light gauge steel, concrete, post-tensioned concrete, and masonry, particularly in low to mid-rise structures. Experience with shallow and deep foundation system design is also required. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of experience in structural engineering, possess a professional license, and have seismic experience. They should be adept at identifying applicable codes in project-specific jurisdictions and applying them effectively. A working knowledge of Revit is preferred, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment, manage multiple projects and deadlines, and bring each project to successful completion. Familiarity with industry-standard software, including Microsoft products, Bentley (RAM) products, RISA, EnerCalc, and Adapt, is essential. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, as is project management experience and demonstrated team leadership ability.
