About the position

The Sr. Subcontracts Administrator at Redwire will play a crucial role in managing and negotiating complex subcontracts in a fast-paced environment. This position requires expertise in federal and commercial contracting methods, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams. The administrator will be responsible for preparing proposals, negotiating terms, and ensuring compliance with regulations while fostering strong relationships with subcontractors.

Responsibilities

  • Build, review, and approve compliant file documentation.
  • Represent the company as the official interface between program management and subcontractors, which may require travel to supplier locations.
  • Administer government contracts/subcontracts with a strong working knowledge of FAR and DFARS; ITAR/EAR experience is a plus.
  • Prepare proposal and business documents for execution, including Requests for Proposal and price analysis.
  • Review and verify the accuracy and completeness of proposal packages.
  • Coordinate subcontractor proposals with the internal team.
  • Review subcontractor proposals and negotiate with suppliers on price, schedule, terms, and conditions.
  • Prepare subcontract documents and amendments, ensuring compliance with prime contract requirements.
  • Prepare reports and contractual correspondence for project management.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance, manage deliverables, and payment of invoices.
  • Provide advice and interpretation of contract/subcontract requirements.
  • Perform price analysis to ensure reasonableness of pricing in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Perform subcontract closeout actions and complete file documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field, with 5+ years of experience in aerospace or manufacturing; or 10 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience supporting a wide range of U.S. Government and/or commercial programs.
  • Experience managing diverse subcontractors, both large and small businesses.
  • Experience awarding/managing diverse subcontract types.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent organization and follow-through skills, driven to excellence.
  • Experience working in ERP systems, with Costpoint experience highly desired.
  • Willingness and desire for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects of competing authority and varying scope.
  • Ability to find win-win solutions and a 'make it happen' attitude.
  • Understanding/knowledge of audits and SOX requirements is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in drafting guidance where no process or policy exists.
  • Experience in negotiating additions, deletions, or modifications to subcontracts.
